| Level of Course Unit | First Cycle | Objectives of the Course | To provide information on concepts of 'science', 'the history of science' and 'the history of Islamic science'. To compare pre- and post-Islam eras based on scientific studies. To analyze philosophically science and religion, to discuss the relationships between Islam and science, to show the significance of science and technology in Islam, to present sciencetific institutions in Islam and their functions, to introduce knowledge and its types in Islam, to show scientific disciplines and renowed scholars in those areas in Islam and to cite what those scholars have brought in for the humankind. | Name of Lecturer(s) | | Learning Outcomes | 1 | Students will obtain sufficient information on concepts of 'science', 'the history of science' and 'the history of Islamic science'. | 2 | Will compare pre- and post-Islam eras based on scientific studies. | 3 | Will understand the importance of science and technology in Islam. | 4 | Will learn scientific disciplines and renowed scholars in those areas in Islam and cite what those scholars have brought in for the humankind. | 5 | Will get ideas from the Islamic science history to approach to the current issues in the world. |
