Objectives of the Course
This course is designed to provide sufficient information about alternative energy sources such as conventional and renewable, along with key issues directly related to energy policies such as energy history, energy economy, energy displacement, energy geopolitics, energy and global climate change and energy security.

1Provides an opinion on the basic issues related to energy science.
2Analyze the historical dynamics of the global energy system, the mechanism of displacement between energy sources and future energy systems.
3Interpret the dynamics of international relations by analyzing the relationship between countries' energy policies and global resource wars.
4Explain the roles of energy security and supply, demand and transit security of energy, which form the basis of the energy policies of the countries, in the country's policies.

Course Contents
The main topics of the first part of this course are energy overview, history and energy displacement, important energy ages, energy and sovereign powers, geopolitics and energy security of energy sources, Hubbert curve and oil summit theory, primary energy sources, energy conversion and secondary energy, energy as an economic sector consists of final consumption of sectoral energy, sustainable energy development, energy and environment. The second part starts with fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas and continues with renewable energies such as wind, solar, geothermal, hydro, biomass and hydrogen.
