Objectives of the Course
The purpose of this course is to have students acquire some knowledge about the current structure and historical progress of the Turkish Economy.

Learning Outcomes
1Have some historical and up-to-date information related to the demographic structure of Turkey.
2Identify basic concepts regarding employment and unemployment, and acquire the information about the progress and sectoral composition of employment and unemployment in Turkey.
3Comprehend the development of national income in Turkey by taking into consideration such distinctions as total vs. per capita national income, gross vs. net national income, nominal vs. real national income, and the structure of income distribution in Turkey.
4Acquire some knowledge regarding the structure of public finance and the problems experienced on this matter in Turkey.
5Have some opinion pertaining to historical development and primary causes of inflation, and to potential solutions that can be developed on this issue in Turkey.
6Learn major developments experienced in Turkey’s balance of payments, and policies for international trade and capital flows.
