Objectives of the Course
In this course, introducing modern growth theories and comparing different growth models will be transferred to the students, and theoretical and empirical developments in economic growth will be discussed.

Course Contents
Turkey's growth experience and the course begins by discussing why Turkey can not catch up economically developed countries. To understand the problem, growth theory is looked at. Harrod's knife-back theorem and Solow's response to Harrod are examined. After discussing the contributions of Mankiw, Romer and Weil to Solow, internal growth theories emphasizing education and R&D are returned. latest contribution to growth theory, after institutionalist approach examined returning to Turkey again, fast growth and high per capita savings of Turkey as factors that will enable the national income and investment trends, spending on education, R & D and institutions considers what happens condition terms.
