General Description
History
The proposal of our University Senate dated 24/08/2010 regarding the establishment of Yozgat Bozok University Sorgun Vocational School was examined at the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting dated 05/05/2011, and the proposal was deemed appropriate in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880. In this context, Sorgun Vocational School was established in 2011. The proposal to open 13 associate degree programs within our Vocational School was accepted at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 13/02/2013, and the Construction Department was activated in 2015 and started to admit students. The language of education is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all the requirements receive the degree of "Associate Degree in Construction Technology". This diploma degree corresponds to the 5th level education level within the scope of the European Qualifications framework.

Specific Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Each year, the Rectorate determines and announces the registration date, required documents and registration places of the student candidates who will register for the first time at the University. Registration procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Department. Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and must have a sufficient score from the University Student Selection Examination.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Transitions to this program are made according to the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transferring Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Institutions" published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the principles determined by the senate of Yozgat Bozok University.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who successfully complete all courses in the two-year (four semesters) education and training program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and 20 working days of compulsory vocational internship receive an associate degree.
Profile of The Programme
Construction Technology Program is a program that provides preliminary education and training on the construction and operation of all kinds of structures that people use in their daily lives. Construction Technology is a technical discipline that is based on mathematics and physics education and then general information is given in major engineering sciences such as structure, mechanics, building materials, transportation, geotechnics and building management. The main objective of the program is to train technical staff who follow science and technology, who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to transfer this knowledge to practice in parallel with the developing technology. For this purpose, in addition to the theoretical information in our program, practical information to be used in the field of application and many computer programs related to the department (Idestatik, Autocad, etc.) are trained. Students who graduate from the construction technology program, construction sector; private engineering, architecture offices, construction companies, building inspection companies, building laboratories and the public sector are trained as necessary intermediate staff (professional staff) with sufficient knowledge and business skills in the subjects they need.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Construction technicians constitute the occupational group that actively take part in the construction of dams, roads, airports, residences, etc., and work as technical staff in the natural resources, transportation / highway, building departments and material testing laboratories of public or local governments. They play an important role as technical staff in the planning, project, construction and control stages of highways, bridges, dams, airports, water supply/distribution systems and all structures from residences to commercial centers.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the department can continue some programs of open education without an exam. After graduation, they can continue their undergraduate education by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) to the departments determined in their fields.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the practices in order to take the final exam. For each course, students are subjected to midterm studies (midterm, quiz, homework, project, application or similar studies) and final exam. All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. In semester courses, there are semester evaluation activities and a final exam. There is one make-up exam for students who fail the final exam and for students who want to upgrade the courses they have passed conditionally. For students who are successful in all courses but fail only one course, a single course exam is held.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete all the courses in the program for a total of 120 ECTS and achieve a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate. In addition to successfully completing the courses, an internship is also required for graduation.

Facilities
The department has three permanent lecturers and lecturers assigned to different departments for various courses. The department has one concrete laboratory, one drawing and design classroom, one reading and study classroom, one computer laboratory, two fully equipped classrooms and social activity areas that students can use in their free time.
