General Description
History
The tender dated 24/08/2010 of our University Senate regarding the formation of Yozgat Bozok University Sorgun Vocational School was examined at the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting dated 05/05/2011, and Law No. 2547 differs from Law No. 2880. 7/d- The offers in question stored in Article 2 are suitable. In this context, Sorgun Vocational School was established in 2011. The proposal to open 13 associate degree programs within our Vocational School was accepted at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 13/02/2013, and the Department of Property Protection and Security was activated and started accepting students in the 2018-2019 academic year. The language of education is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program by meeting all requirements receive an "Associate Degree Diploma in Private Security and Protection" degree. This diploma degree awarded corresponds to the 5th level of education within the scope of the European Qualifications framework.

Specific Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures; Measurement is carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Every year, the Rectorate determines and announces the registration date, required documents and registration places for prospective students who will first register to the University, according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Department. Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination. In addition, during registration to our program, a medical report from a full-fledged hospital with the phrase "Private Security Officer" and a criminal record certificate from the judicial authorities are requested.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Transfers to this program are made in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the principles determined by the senate of Yozgat Bozok University.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain an associate degree in the field of Private Security and Protection, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) in the program, have a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, and successfully complete the 20 working days compulsory professional internship. students receive an associate degree.
Profile of The Programme
Property Protection and Security Department Private Security and Protection Program is designed for individuals who can capture today's dynamism in the security sector, adapt to technological developments, are knowledgeable about the relevant legislation, are mentally and physically effective in the security activities they will carry out in the field, are highly educated in the security sector, have analytical intelligence, and are entrepreneurs; It aims to train personnel who can think versatile and take responsibility. In this context, in the private security sector that provides a wide range of services (sports competitions, concerts, meetings, festivals, etc.), large and small enterprises in the public and private sectors are required to gain individual and professional skills in terms of security, as well as prevention of social events, intervention in social events and tactical training. The need for competent personnel in the field of private security is met.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Private Security and Protection program have very broad fields of work. In this respect, private security service areas include business centers, accommodation places, health institutions, education and training institutions, museums, ceremonial places, public housing areas, airports and ports, sea ports, subways, stations and terminals, industrial and commercial enterprises. dams, power plants, refineries, energy transmission lines, radiolink stations, image and sound transmitting stations, fuel transfer, storage and loading facilities, river, lake and sea shores, forest areas, open and closed areas where all kinds of sports competitions, stage shows and meetings are held. It is concentrated in closed spaces. Graduates can establish and operate private security companies on their own behalf, as well as work and train in various private security companies. They can take part in the infrastructure or management of security services of institutions and organizations in the public and private sectors. Our graduates can be employed in the above-mentioned work fields all over Turkey. At the same time, since an associate degree is required for civil servant recruitment through KPSS-B and "security officer staff" preferences, the doors of these institutions are open to program graduates. Students who graduate from this program can work in public or private organizations in the region or run their own businesses. Throughout Turkey, there are many companies that operate privately and provide short-term training. However, private security guards who have received quality training may be able to become security chiefs and managers in the workplace in the future, in accordance with the law. It is obvious that institutions that provide high-level education, such as universities, can do this.
Access to Further Studies

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to register for courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam, they must have attended at least 70% of the courses and 80% of the practices. For each course, students are subject to midterm studies (midterm exam, quiz, homework, practice or similar studies) and a final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. In the courses held on a semester basis, mid-semester evaluation activities and a final exam are held. A make-up exam is held for students who fail the final exam and who want to upgrade the courses they have conditionally passed. A single course exam is held for students who are successful in all courses but fail in only one course.
Graduation Requirements
In order to obtain an associate degree in the field of Private Security and Protection, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) in the program and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0. In addition to successfully completing the courses, completing an internship is a must for graduation.
