General Description
History | Our faculty was established in Yozgat, under the Rectorate of Erciyes University, by the Decision of the Council of Ministers dated 24.08.1994 and numbered 94/6138, published in the Official Gazette dated 3 November 1994 and numbered 22100. The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics started to accept students in the 2014-2015 academic year within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Yozgat Bozok University. | Qualification Awarded | Undergraduate | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | The right to admission and registration is earned by the examination conducted by ÖSYM. Access to undergraduate programs is only based on the score from this examination. The students send their preference forms to the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) according to the scores they get in the exam result. OSYM takes all applicants, groups applicants according to points, places scores from highest to lowest, lists all existing programs according to preferred score, and places students in one of their preferred programs. | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | Formal | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | Students must successfully complete the required compulsory and elective courses required in the program in order to be able to obtain a bachelor's degree and in the overall grade average they must have a weight of at least 2.00 over 4.00
grade average. | Profile of The Programme | Purpose of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics; have gained basic skills in theoretical and applied fields, researching, interrogating, interpreting and developing independent projects, ethical values insoluble researchers and specialists. It is also one of the most innovative areas of the 21st century. Molecular Biology and Genetics graduates can be found in the health, agriculture and industry sectors through biotechnology it is expected to be individuals who can produce solutions to major problems. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Students who have completed the Molecular Biology and Genetics program will be individuals with the capacity and knowledge to develop new products in the field of biotechnology, which will contribute to the country's economy and development. Areas such as medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, agriculture and food engineering, which make extensive use of molecular diagnostic and analysis methods, enable Molecular Biology and Genetics graduates to have a broad employment profile.
