General Description
History
The department, which was founded in 2009 under the name of Yozgat Faculty of Science and Letters Archeology Department, started its education program in 2017. The department continues its undergraduate education under the name of Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Archeology.

Those who complete the undergraduate education given in the department get the title of archaeologist.

Specific Admission Requirements
Students who get enough points in the field of TM (Turkish - Mathematics) as a result of the YKS exam conducted by ÖSYM are eligible to register.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
If the student presents evidence of the 5İ courses taken from previous education and equivalent courses in the department curriculum, they can be evaluated and exempted by the department course exemption commission.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate from the undergraduate program, Yozgat Bozok University must fulfill the requirements in the Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. Students who take the courses in the curriculum of the program and succeed in all the exams of these courses (reaching a minimum of 2.0 general average and taking courses for 240 ECTS), as well as fulfilling the requirements for application and research such as the graduation thesis required by the program, are deemed to have fulfilled the above-mentioned objectives concretely and graduated. In order to graduate from the program, it is not necessary to do internship or similar work. Taking into account the codes, names and credits of all compulsory and elective courses that students must take, Turkish Higher Education Qualifications and Area Competencies, it is obligatory to take courses of 240 ECTS in 8 semesters and to be successful, provided that they are 30 ECTS on a semester basis.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
In addition to academic institutions, our graduates of the Master's Programme in Archaeology can work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, museums affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Regional Directorates for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage, Surveying Directorates, Conservation, Implementation and Inspection Offices (KUDEB) established within the municipality or Special Provincial Administration, Turkish Historical Society. Regional Directorates for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets, Directorates of Surveying, Conservation, Implementation and Inspection Bureaus (KUDEB) established within the Municipality or Special Provincial Administration, Archaeological excavations within the Turkish Historical Society, Engineering Companies preparing EIA reports, Private Museums, Mineral Research and Exploration Institute, Police Department (Crime Scene Investigation, Antiquities Smuggling Branches, etc.), Culture and Tourism Guides and Architecture offices can work as archaeologists.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in a graduate (master's) program provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and must have attended at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the practices in order to take the final exam. The raw success score of the course is calculated by taking into account the weighted average of the grades taken from the midterm exam, practice and other activities related to education and training in the semester / year, if any, and the final or make-up grade, if any. The contribution percentages of the raw success score of the course are determined by the instructor of the relevant course at the beginning of the semester and announced to the students by entering the student information system within the first two weeks of the relevant semester / year courses at the latest. However, the contribution of semester/year evaluations to the success grade cannot be less than 30% and more than 60%; the contribution of semester/year-end evaluations to the success grade cannot be less than 40% and more than 70%. In courses with applied or special evaluation in which only the semester / year-end exam is held, the contribution of the semester / year-end exam to the success grade is 100%. Exams are evaluated out of 100 points. The midterm and final exam results of a course are shown with a numerical score. The score of the exams that the student does not take is zero. In order to be successful in a course, the success grade must be at least DD or higher. Grades AA, AB, BA, BB, BC, CB and CC are unconditionally successful grades. CD, DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course with a CD, DC or DD grade, his/her GPA must be at least 2.00.

As a result of the 8-semester education determined by the department, at least 240 ECTS credits have been successfully completed.

Facilities
Lectures accompanied by images in all vocational courses, ensuring the student's participation in class and discussion environment with reading assignments, field work (excavation and surveys) and application.
