General Description
History
Department of Horticulture started its undergraduate education and training in 2013-2014.
Qualification Awarded
A bachelor's degree is given to students who are successful in all the theoretical and applied for courses in the undergraduate education program and internship. In order for a student to be successful in the courses he/she has taken, he/she must get at least 2.00 in the 4-point system. The graduate student receives the title of "Agricultural Engineer".

Specific Admission Requirements
It is sufficient for the candidate to get enough points in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) for admission to this department.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Exemption: Students enrolled in the education program must apply to be exempted from these courses in the department with the document they have received from the Higher Education Institutions they are registered and showing that they are successful. With this application to be made 15 days before the start of education, evaluation is made and a decision is made according to the principles determined by the Faculty Administrative Board. An exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic term for foreign language (English). Students who take this exam and are successful are exempted from this course.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to successfully complete all of the courses (240 ECTS in total) available in the program, it is sufficient to achieve a minimum grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.0.
Profile of The Programme
The main purpose of the Horticulture Department is to carry out educational and research activities on the cultivation and breeding of fruit, vegetables, vineyards and ornamental plants.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Agricultural engineers who graduated from Horticulture Department; They can work in Provincial Directorates of Agriculture affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Institutes, Public Institutions such as Ministries of Environment and Forestry, and Professional Research Institutes. In addition, they have the opportunity to work in private working areas, especially in companies engaged in horticulture seeds, drug dealers, ready-made seedling sector and agricultural production and marketing companies.
Access to Further Studies
It is organized within the framework of the conditions in the Postgraduate Education Directive applied by Yozgat Bozok University Graduate Education Institute or other Institutes.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The method of measurement and evaluation applied for each lesson is described in detail in the lesson plan. Grade evaluation is done on a relative system. Exam evaluations are applied as stated in the 21st article of Bozok University Education and Training Regulation. The success grade of a course is 40% of the average of the students' scores from the midterm exam and, if any, other educational activities of that course; It is obtained by adding 60% of the final exam score. The midterm exam scores of the students who are evaluated as unsuccessful in the applied courses and the other activities during the semester/year are not taken into consideration, these students are declared unsuccessful before taking the final exam and their scores are evaluated with FF (absent) letter grade.
Graduation Requirements
In addition to the conditions in the qualification conditions and rules section, there is an obligation to do an internship for 30 working days.
