Objectives of the Course
To teach Geological Engineering students fundamental uses of the AutoCAD software package, basic two dimensional drawing techniques. Advanced topics also cover three dimensional drawings and animations.
Name of Lecturer(s)
Yrd. Doç. Dr. Nursel ÖKSÜZ
Learning Outcomes
1Word processing: creation of different types of documents, formatting documents using styles, using equation editor, applying page and section breaks, creating simple and complex headers and footers, inserting end notes to the bottom of pages, creating table of contents and index for a document, finishing of a complete formal document.
2Excel spread sheet: basic calculations on a spread sheet, making statistical calculations, creating X-Y charts of different type, producing histograms, copying these diagrams into word processor
3Freehand: Scanning an image, creating tiff-, bmp-, wmf files to use in freehand, drawing sketches and/or geological maps, using style command to produce different styles for different types of formations, using layer command to draw complex lithological boundaries, creating custom geological patterns.
4CorelDraw: Scanning an image, creating tiff-, bmp-, wmf files to use in freehand, drawing sketches and/or geological maps, using style command to produce different styles for different types of formations, using layer command to draw complex lithological boundaries, creating custom geological patterns
5Trial: triangular diagram drawing
