General Description
History
Penal Execution and Security Services Program was opened on 15.02.2017 within the Department of Law of Yerköy Vocational School of Justice. This program, which admitted students for the first time in the Fall Semester of the 2017-2018 Academic Year, transferred to the Department of Law within the Yozgat Vocational School of our University in the 2023-2024 Academic Year, based on the decision of YÖK. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete all courses in the program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and obtain a weighted GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree diploma.

Specific Admission Requirements
To the program; Students are accepted based on Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) scores. Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and meet the conditions determined by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in line with the relevant legislation of YÖK. In addition, foreign students are accepted within the framework of a certain quota.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Within the scope of recognition of previous formal learning, course exemptions, course and credit transfer and adjustment procedures are carried out within the framework of the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" and the relevant legislation of our University. is being carried out. In addition, exemption exams can be held at the beginning of each semester/year for courses deemed appropriate for exemption (Computer, Foreign Language courses, etc.) upon the recommendation of the relevant boards of academic units and the decision of the Senate. The recognition process of non-formal certificate-based or experience-based learning outside of formal education is still in its early stages.

In order to obtain an associate degree, program students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and obtain a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme
The main goal of the Penal Execution and Security Services Program is to train graduates who will take part in the Turkish penal and enforcement system, who have high legal knowledge and ethical values, who can analyze events fairly, interpret the law correctly and have professional responsibility awareness, and who are competent in the field of security and enforcement. The Penitentiary and Security Services Program carries out its internal and external activities and duties within the framework of the determined vision and with the coordination of the Rectorate to which it is affiliated. The program trains students to work in a wide range of employment in the penal system and security services. The stakeholders through which the program is activated and targeted to be activated include the Ministry of Justice, General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses, Execution Institutions and Detention Houses, Courthouses and Probation Directorates. The program aims to provide students with the best education in its field with its experienced teaching staff and research faculty members. The course curriculum of the program focuses especially on criminal enforcement and security services, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need in their fields. This ensures that students are best prepared for the industry. In addition, the necessary support is provided for willing and successful students to transfer vertically to relevant faculties.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Job opportunities for our graduates can generally be listed as follows; Penal Institutions, Detention Houses and Probation Directorates affiliated to the Ministry of Justice, General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses, law offices in the private sector and other public institutions. Graduates of this program can be appointed as civil servants at the associate degree level in public institutions if they receive the required score from the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can enter the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) and transfer to four-year departments (faculties).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
1) Exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Midterm and final exam results of a course are shown with numerical scores. The score of the exams that the student has not taken is zero. 2) The midterm exam score average is the weighted average of the students' scores in the midterm exams. The decimal number to be found in this way; 0.5 and above is rounded up, if below 0.5 it is rounded down. 3) The raw success score of the course is calculated by considering the weighted average of the grades that the course has received from the midterm exam, practice and, if any, other semester/year education-related activities, and the final or make-up grade, if any. The raw success point contribution percentages of the course are determined by the instructor of the relevant course at the beginning of the semester and announced to the students by entering the student information system within the first two weeks of the relevant semester/year courses at the latest. However, the contribution of the semester/year evaluations to the success grade is less than 30%, more than 60%; The contribution of the semester/year-end evaluations to the success grade cannot be less than 40% or more than 70%. The contribution of the semester/end exam to the success grade is 100% in the applied or special assessment courses where only the semester/end exam is given. 4) Matters regarding the evaluation of courses conducted by distance education are determined by the Senate. 5) The course success of the student is determined by one of the letter grades by the instructor, taking into account the general success level of all students taking that course, the arithmetic averages of the student's raw success score and their statistical distributions. 6) Letter grades and coefficients related to achievement levels are given below. AA, AB, BA, BB, BC, CB and CC grades are unconditionally successful grades. CD, DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course in which he received a CD, DC or DD grade, his/her GPA must be at least 2.00. 8) The explanation of other letter grades is as follows: a) MU grade is used to exempt the course from being included in the average in cases where the students who came to the University by vertical or horizontal transfer and graduated before 2/5/2014 and the course to be exempted are stated as Sufficient/Successful/Passed/Exempted in the transcript. b) PT grade is given to students who are continuing the courses that are not included in the grade point average. c) DZ grade is given to students who fail because they cannot meet the course attendance requirement or course application requirements. FF grade is treated in the GPA calculation. d) YT grade is given to students who are successful/sufficient in courses that are not deemed appropriate to be included in the grade point average with the decision of the relevant academic unit board and the approval of the Senate. d) YZ grade is given to unsuccessful/insufficient students in courses that are not deemed appropriate to be included in the grade point average with the decision of the relevant academic unit board and the approval of the Senate. e) KL grade is given for the courses removed from the program. f) RC grade is used for the course that the student withdraws with the approval of his/her advisor, within 3 weeks after the add-drop week. Students take 1 course in a semester; During the study period, a maximum of 4 courses can be withdrawn.

Students must be successfully complete all courses which is available in the program (total 120 ECTS) and obtaine at least 2.00 on a 4.00 graduation point and it is necessary to successfully complete the twenty working days internship.

Facilities
Education and research activities in our department are provided by 4 lecturers. Educational services are carried out in Yerköy district, and the service building has 5 classrooms, 1 computer laboratory, 1 conference hall, 1 library, 1 cafeteria and 1 canteen. Students of our department can use the internet free of charge throughout the day.
