General Description
History
The proposal of the Senate of our University, dated 24/08/2010, regarding the establishment of Yozgat Bozok University Sorgun Vocational School was examined at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting dated 05/05/2011, and the Law No. 2547 was amended 7/d-2 with the Law No. 2880. The proposal in question was approved in accordance with the article. In this context, Sorgun Vocational School was established in 2011. The proposal to open 13 associate degree programs within the body of our Vocational School was accepted at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting on 13/02/2013, Local Administrations, Computer Programming, Automotive Technology, Foreign Trade, Tourism and Hotel Management, Private Security and Protection, Mining Technology, Electricity. , Business Management, Construction Technology, Machinery, Drilling Technology, Accounting and Tax Applications programs are our open programs. The language of education is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
In order to obtain an associate degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (total of 120 ECTS) and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00. In addition, students must have successfully completed their internship, which covers 20 working days.

In order to apply for this program, they must take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by the OSYM Presidency and get enough points in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish Higher Education Institutions, vertical, horizontal and intra-university transitions. TRANSITION BETWEEN ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MAJOR AND INTER-INSTITUTIONAL CREDIT STRUCTURES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS RELATED TO THE REGULATION". In Turkey, the recognition process of non-formal certificate-based or experience-based (in-formal and non-formal) learning outside of formal education institutions is still in its infancy. Therefore, the recognition of prior learning has not been fully initiated in all programs of Yozgat Bozok University. However, an exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic term for courses such as Computer and English and German included in the education plans of the programs. Students who think that they meet the expected qualifications from these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who pass the exam and pass the exam are exempted from the relevant courses in the curriculum.

Profile of The Programme
The purpose of this program; Having all the theoretical knowledge and sectoral experience required by the tourism industry in Turkey and the world, being able to use computer technologies, having the ability to issue, decide and apply the tickets of domestic and foreign airline companies at international standards, Our mission is to train qualified intermediate staff who closely follow the latest developments, are successful in human relations, have strong communication skills, can actively use English, and can apply all these features in accordance with the terms of IATA (International Air Transport Association), with a broad vision and open to continuous development. In the Tourism and Hotel Management Program of our Vocational School, vocational courses are taught theoretically and practically. Theoretical courses are held in our vocational school building. Every student is obliged to do an internship for 20 working days in enterprises that comply with the criteria determined by the college administration, except for the education and training period.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our students who are awarded the title of "Tourism Professional Personnel" will have the knowledge and skills to work in all businesses operating in other fields of the sector, especially in accommodation facilities. The main employment sectors for students who graduate from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program are: Accommodation Facilities (Hotel, Holiday Village), Food and Beverage Businesses (Restaurant, Cafe, Catering), Airlines, Various Transport Companies, Culture and Tourism Ministry, Tourism Writing and Photography, Congress-Conference Centers, Bed and food and beverage services in hospitals
Access to Further Studies
Transition to Higher Degree Programs Candidates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can transfer vertically to undergraduate programs related to their fields, provided that they are successful in the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam). In addition, they can transfer directly to the related undergraduate programs of Open Education Faculties without examination. Departments that can be transferred with the Vertical Transfer Exam: Business, Business Informatics, Business-Economy, Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Logistics Management, Hotel Management, Tourism management, Tourism Management and Hotel Management, Tourism and hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Every student must register in the beginning of each semester in order to continue classes. To participate in the final examination, students must have attended at least 70% of the classes and 80% of the practices. The students take at least one mid-term examination and the final examination for each class. The mid-term examination’s (assessment methods like assignments, laboratory examinations, quizzes, etc. can be calculated as mid-term grade) contribution to the final grade is 40% and final examination counts for 60% of the final grade. In order to be successful in a course, the final grade must be at least DD. DC and DD grades are conditional success grades. That means if a student have these grades for some courses, he has to have at least a 2.0 GPA so that he will be successful in the mentioned courses.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete all 120 ECTS courses available in the program and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are entitled to graduate. In addition to successfully completing the courses, the completion of a compulsory 20-working-day summer internship is a requirement for graduation.

Facilities
Vocational educational activities in our school 3 lecturers carried out. And the projection is carried out in classrooms with a seating capacity of 30-50 courses in our program. One computer labs in our school is being used efficiently. In addition, the program which is open throughout the day students can benefit from free internet lab.
