General Description
History
The 24/08/2010 Protocol of the Senate of our University regarding the database of Bozok University Sorgun School, 05/05/2011 Higher Education General Assembly has been examined, and the 7/d-2 form of the Law No. 2547 with the Law No. 2880 is in question. suitable for the offer. In this context, Sorgun Vocational School was established in 2011. The meeting of the Higher Education Board of Education was accepted, and the recruitment of students, whose Opticians Programme will be activated in 2017, has begun. The language of education is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all the requirements receive the "Associate Degree Diploma in Opticians" degree. This degree corresponds to level 5 of the European Qualifications framework.

Specific Admission Requirements
In order to apply for this program, they must take the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) and obtain enough points in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish higher education institutions, vertical, horizontal and transitions within the university. "Within the scope of the Regulation. based on non-formal certification outside formal educational institutions in Turkey or based on experience (in-formal and non-formal) recognition of the learning process it is at an early stage. Therefore, recognition of prior learning is not fully initiated in all programs of Yozgat Bozok University. However, exemption exams are held at the beginning of each academic term for the courses in the curriculum of the programs such as Computer and English and German. Students who think that they meet the expected qualifications of these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who pass the exam are exempted from the related courses in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.
Profile of The Programme
The aim of the program in the associate degree vocational school of health services is to give a comprehensive associate degree that provides to the students to train at a professional level of Optician, to train health staff to eliminate visual defects of vision inaccordance with a prescription issued by an authorized specialist materials (glass-frameglasses, contact lenses), the diopter, the optical center axis, the raw material of the lens,taking into account the physical characteristics of the lens and the frame according to the principles of technical specs the preparation of the area in the field of health education.

Graduates of the program can work as responsible managers in optician institutions in the private sector or they have the right to open an optician establishment.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and to take the final exam, they must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the applications. For each course, students are subjected to mid-term exams (midterm, quiz, homework, project, application or similar studies) and final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. One midterm and one final exam are held for the semester. 40% of mid-term exam and 60% of final exam are summed and student's grade is determined.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete all courses of the program, whose overall academic achievement grade point average is 2.00 or higher, and who complete 120 AKTS and summer internship are eligible for a diploma.

There is a fully equipped opticians laboratory which has a capacity of 20 students.
