General Description

| History | | It is developing rapidly all over the world thanks to its role in industrialization as well as being safe and fast in railway transportation. The importance of safe management of railway traffic, which has become more complex compared to the previous years and new applications, is increasing, and it is necessary to train the workforce to take charge in these areas. With the Rail Systems Machinery Technology program of the Department of Transportation Services, opened within the body of Yozgat Bozok University Sorgun Vocational School, it is aimed to train responsible, duty-conscious manpower to take part in railway transportation. They can work as maintenance-repair staff, operator, machinist, boatman, switchman, conductor, technician, elevator technical staff in TCDD and its subsidiaries, municipalities with rail systems network and many rail systems companies operating in the private sector.
They carry out regular maintenance of the rail system vehicles, identify the source of an existing fault and fix the fault, inform the relevant people if they do not have the authority or competence to fix the fault.
Apart from this, there is the opportunity to become a Machinist for the students who graduated from the Rail Systems departments. In order to become a machinist, if they complete the relevant machinist course and training, they can work as operators and machinists of rail vehicles used by various private sector companies engaged in machinist, municipality and urban rail transportation vehicles, roadman, road maintenance-repair and construction at TCDD. If they have any undergraduate diplomas, they can become high-speed train drivers. | | Access to Further Studies | | Students who successfully complete their education are given an associate degree diploma as "Rail Systems Machinery Technician".
Rail Systems Machinery Technology associate degree graduates can apply to undergraduate programs related to their field or to undergraduate completion programs of Distance Education Systems, provided that they get sufficient points in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Rail Systems Engineering | | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | | Each student must make the beginning of term and final exam, register for classes at least 70% of the courses, applications must be continued for at least 80%. Students for each course at least one midterm and final exam are subjected. Success grade, midterm exam (as the midterm grade homework, laboratory exams, quizzes, etc. can be evaluated in the scores obtained from measuring instruments) contributed 40%, 60% in the form of contribution to the final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Final exam are required to obtain at least 45 points. A student (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) has received a letter grade, students are considered successful from that course. (DC) and (DD) notes that successful conditional notes. DC or DD grade in a course where the student to be successful you must be at least 2.00 cumulative grade point average. | | Graduation Requirements | | Students who have successfully completed all of the courses in the program for a total of 120 ECTS and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate.
