General Description
History
Construction Technology Department, which is one of the basic departments of Yozgat Bozok University Technical Sciences Vocational School, was established in 2002 within the body of Erciyes University. With the establishment of Bozok University in 2006, it became a part of this new university. The basic education principle of the Construction Technology Department; By combining current, scientific and technological studies, the student is trained to meet the requirements of the technological era in the field of construction and educates the intermediate staff desired by the sector. The language of education is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all the requirements receive the "Associate Degree in Construction Technology" degree. This degree awarded corresponds to the 5th level education level within the framework of the European Qualifications framework.

Specific Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures; Measurement is carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Every year, the Rectorate determines and announces the registration date, required documents and registration places for prospective students who will first register to the University, according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Department. Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Transfers to this program are made in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the principles determined by the senate of Yozgat Bozok University.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who successfully complete all courses in the two-year (four semesters) education program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and 20 working days of compulsory professional internship receive an associate degree.
Profile of The Programme
Construction Technology Program is a program that provides preliminary training on the construction and operation of all kinds of structures that people use in their daily lives. Construction Technology is a technical discipline whose foundation is based on mathematics and physics education, followed by general knowledge in major engineering sciences such as structure, mechanics, building materials, transportation, geotechnics and construction management. The main goal of the program is; To train technical personnel who follow science and technology and are equipped with the necessary knowledge in parallel with the developing technology and the skills to transfer this knowledge into practice. For this purpose, in addition to theoretical information, our program provides practical information to be used in the field of application and training in many computer programs related to the department (Idestatic, Autocad, etc.). Students graduating from the construction technology program are interested in the construction industry; It is trained as the necessary intermediate staff (professional staff) with sufficient knowledge and business skills in the subjects needed by private engineering, architecture offices, construction companies, building inspection companies, construction laboratories and the public sector.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Construction technicians; It constitutes the professional group that works actively in the construction of dams, roads, airports, housing, etc., in companies that provide supervision services, and as technical staff in natural resources, transportation/highway, construction departments and material testing laboratories of public or local governments. They play an important role as technical personnel in the planning, project, construction and control stages of all structures, from highways, bridges, dams, airports, water supply/distribution systems and residences to commercial centers.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the department can continue some programs of open education without examination. They can continue their undergraduate education by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) after graduation and in the departments determined in their field.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to register for courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam, they must have attended at least 70% of the courses and 80% of the practices. For each course, students are subject to midterm studies (midterm exam, quiz, homework, project, application or similar studies) and a final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. In the courses held on a semester basis, mid-semester evaluation activities and a final exam are held. A make-up exam is held for students who fail the final exam and who want to upgrade the courses they have conditionally passed. A single course exam is held for students who are successful in all courses but fail in only one course.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete all courses for a total of 120 ECTS in the program and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate. In addition to successfully completing the courses, completing an internship is a must for graduation.

Facilities
The department has four permanent faculty members and faculty members assigned to different departments for various courses. The department has a concrete laboratory, a drawing and design classroom, a computer laboratory, two fully equipped classrooms and social activity areas that students can use in their free time.
