General Description
History
The department was founded in the Faculty of Theology of Bozok Univeresity, with the decree by the Cabinet of Turkey on 13.09.2010 according to Article 30 of the law of the Ministry of Education on the dated 09.13.2010 and 16319, addition to Law No. 2809, dated 28.03.1983 . Theology department started to accept students in 2012-2013 academic year .
Qualification Awarded
Those who successfully complete the 150-credit undergraduate program are given a Primary Education Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge teacher diploma. In addition to the department program, students with a grade point average above 2.50 can attend different courses in the Faculty of Theology within the quota and receive a double major diploma. In addition, students who participate in the sub-field programs of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Education, Turkish Education and Social Studies Education departments are given a minor course certificate.

Students are selected by National University Entrance Examination (Student Placement Exam, YGS).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers” are applied.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The achievement score is determined by adding 40% of the average scores of each midterm exam to 60% of the final score. A student’s minimum grade must be DD to pass a course. AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC grades are the indicators of success without being subject to any conditions; on the other hand, DC and DD grades are the indicators of success, yet they are subject to certain conditions. A student getting DC or DD grade from a course should have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.00 in order to achieve that course
Profile of The Programme
The aim of the program is to train teachers who will conduct the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge course and elective field courses taught in public and private schools. The program prepared for this purpose consists of 47% field knowledge, 27% general culture knowledge and 26% teaching profession knowledge. 12% of the courses consist of elective courses. General culture courses are mostly collected in the first semesters and decrease in the following semesters. Teaching profession knowledge courses aiming to provide pedagogical formation to teacher candidates were distributed to each semester in approximate proportions. In order to gain field knowledge, courses on Basic Islamic Sciences, Religious Studies, Islamic History and Art are spread over all semesters in an appropriate order.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Since the graduates of the department have a Religious Culture and Moral Education Teacher Diploma in primary education, they can be appointed to both primary and secondary education institutions. Some of our graduates passed the institution-specific proficiency exams in institutions affiliated to the Presidency of Religious Affairs and were appointed as Imam-Hatip and Qur'an Course instructors, and some preferred to work in private schools. One of our graduates was appointed as a research assistant at the Faculty of Theology.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in master's and doctoral programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
At least one midterm and a semester exam is given for each course. In order to take the semester exam, it is necessary to have attended the theoretical parts of the courses at the rate of 70% and the applied parts at the rate of 80%. Midterm exams are given in the 8th week of the semester, and the final exam is done after a few days break at the end of the semester. The effect of the final exam on the success grade is 60%. In addition to the midterm exam, homework grades can also be given. The effect of these on the success grade is decided by the Faculty Board at the beginning of each semester. Relative Evaluation System (BDS) is applied in measurement and evaluation. BDS parameters are determined by the university senate each academic year upon the recommendation of the Faculty. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students who get one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for the student to be successful in a course in which he received a DC or DD grade, his or her overall grade point average must be at least 2.0.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the program and receive a diploma, the student must; 1- To attend the theoretical and practical parts of all the courses in the program and to be successful in the exams (the letter grade of the course should be at least DD), 2-In order to graduate, the student's General Academic Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 2.00.

Facilities
The field knowledge courses are given by the faculty members of the department and the Faculty of Theology, the teaching profession knowledge courses are given by the teaching staff of the Department of Educational Sciences, and the general culture courses are given by the lecturers in other units. All of the courses are given by instructors who are experts in their fields. The number of permanent faculty members of the department is three. Successful students can take up to 6 hours of extra courses from the second year in the next semester. You can graduate a semester or two earlier by taking courses up to 10 credits in summer school. It is possible to transfer from the department to the Departments of Primary Education Religious Culture and Moral Education in other universities and students are accepted by horizontal transfer. Farabi student exchange program is operated between contracted universities. Outside of class hours, students attend conferences, panels, seminars, etc., held in the conference halls of our faculty and university. can attend events. The university library is located close to our department. It is also possible to benefit from the library of the Faculty of Theology. In addition, excursions, cultural activities, etc. by the students of the department. activities are held.

9Plans proper according to education the curriculum by using information of the contents of the field and organizes learning environment that allows education in a democratic way. When needed, reconfigures exam measurement and evaluation tools and methods to analyze data.
10Guides students to understand universal moral values by letting them to recognize basic concepts related to them.
11Organizes activities by providing participation of students and the community order to fulfill the social function of the school.
12Develops religious with methods, techniques, course material in accordance of Religious Culture and Moral Education and gains knowledge about how to make them into practice in a creative way.
