The department was founded in the Faculty of Theology of Bozok Univeresity, with the decree by the Cabinet of Turkey on 13.09.2010 according to Article 30 of the law of the Ministry of Education on the dated 09.13.2010 and 16319, addition to Law No. 2809, dated 28.03.1983 . Theology department started to accept students in 2012-2013 academic year . |

Theology program is subject to the first stage degree system with 240 ECTS credits. When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are provided, they have a Bachelor's degree in Theology. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
For Bachelor Degree of Faculty of Theology, students are selected by National University Entrance Examination (Student Placement Exam, YGS). About 60 students are admitted each year in Islamic Theology Department. After 2013 with increasing quotas 170 students will admit two undergraduate programs. |

In order to obtain a bachelor's degree in theology, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (total of 240 ECTS) and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00. |
Profile of The Programme |
The aim of the Faculty of Theology program is to be able to conduct research, produce information and share them at national and international level, within the framework of objective and scientific principles, in the field of Religion and Basic Islamic Sciences in general; is to train staff who are knowledgeable, talented and have critical thinking skills. The Faculty of Theology offers undergraduate and postgraduate education and research programs in religious studies. |
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples |
Those who have completed the theology program, after completing the three-semester non-thesis master's program, can work as religious culture and moral knowledge teachers in high schools and equivalent schools, and as vocational course teachers in Imam-Hatip High Schools. Faculty graduates can work as religious officials (mufti, preacher, imam-hatip, muezzin, Quran course instructor) within the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Graduates can work as research assistants and lecturers at universities other than the Ministry of National Education and the Presidency of Religious Affairs. In addition, like other faculty graduates, managers, civil servants, etc. in public and private institutions. in cadres; they have the opportunity to work in fields such as librarianship and archiving, depending on the formation they have received during their education. |
Access to Further Studies |
Upon successful completion of bachelor's degree, the candidates can attend post-graduate programs after taking the satisfactory scores in the "Theology Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam" (ALES) and the "Foreign Language Examination" (YDS). |
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Each student must have attended at least 70% of the theoretical courses and 80% of the applied courses in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 50 points from the final exam. Students who get one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for the student to be successful in a course in which he received a DC or DD grade, his or her GPA must be at least 2.0. |

Students at the theology program must successfully complete all the courses with at least 2.0 GPA on 4.00 grade scale and must successfully complete the graduation thesis. |

Facilities |
There are 2 Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 13 Doctors, 9 Lecturers and 14 Research Assistants in the Faculty of Theology. The faculty consists of two main buildings. In these buildings, there are administrative and technical service units, classrooms, seminar halls, study halls, teaching staff rooms, dining hall, canteen and cafeteria, religious music room, library and data processing center. In addition, the Practice Mosque of the Faculty of Theology has been allocated for the use of our university and all the people, especially the faculty students and teachers. |
