General Description

History | Bozok University School of Health was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 10.10.1996 and numbered 96/8655 and the approval of the Council of Higher Education. It started its activities with the opening of the nursing department of Erciyes University Yozgat School of Health in the 1997-1998 academic year. With the law numbered 5467 published in the Official Gazette dated 17.03.2006 and numbered 26111, it was connected to the newly established Bozok University. With the Law published in the Official Gazette on 26 November 2017, the Health Schools were closed down to the Faculty of Health Sciences. Social Services, Health Management and Emergency and Disaster Management Departments were established within our faculty in 2013, but students have not started to be recruited yet. Bozok University Health Sciences Faculty includes four-year undergraduate education in nursing, midwifery and child development departments. As of 2019-2020 academic year, 853 students, 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 13 doctor lecturers, 4 lecturers and 8 research assistants are present in the faculty. | Qualification Awarded | The Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum. | Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | First Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | The general acceptance and admission requirements are explained in “General Admission Requirements of Students” under the title of “About Bozok University” part | Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) | The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their educaiton to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted.However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations | Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS). | Profile of The Programme | Professional nurses provide health care services across the life span and in varied environments. Nursing is concerned with promoting, maintaining, and restoring health. Nursing is committed to the goal of promoting an optimal level of functioning for all individuals, families and groups, thereby contributing to the health of the nation. | Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Graduated students could work as a clinic nurse in primary, secondary and teritary health care centers, Office nurse, school health nurse, administrator or educator nurses | Access to Further Studies | The bachelor’s degree graduates who have passed the national upper graduate entry and english language exams are eligible to apply for Master’s or Doctorate (Phd) Degree Programmes. | Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading | According to bozok University Assessment and Evaluation Principles Instruction, how to make the practices and exams are determined and announced by decision of The Faculty Comittee. Students must attend 70% of the theoretical classes, 80% of practices and 80% of laboratory studies. Students must attend classes, practices and examinations. Implementation of a vocational course the student must take at least 60 grade to be successful.
