General Description
History
The Department of Basic Islamic Sciences consists of the disciplines of Tafsir, Hadith, Islamic Law, Kalam, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Arabic Language and Rhetoric. Master's degree education is given in each branch of science within the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences.
Qualification Awarded
This department is subject to the 120 ECTS credit second stage degree system for the Master's Program of the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences in higher education. When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are provided, a Master's degree is obtained in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences.

Specific Admission Requirements
Master (1) Among the candidates who meet the application requirements for master's programs, students can be admitted at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. (2) In order to apply for a master's program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and an ALES standard score to be determined by the Senate, provided that it is not less than 55 standard points in the score type of the program they are applying for. (3) In admission to graduate programs, the criteria to be included in the evaluation in addition to the ALES score, other documents that candidates must provide for the application, what level of foreign language knowledge is required, and how much weight the ALES score will be taken into consideration, provided that the ALES score is not less than 50%, is determined by the Senate.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A Master's degree in Basic Islamic Sciences is awarded to students who have taken at least 24 credits from the courses available for the Master's program and have successfully completed all of them, at least 70 out of 100, and who successfully defended their thesis in the relevant field in front of a selected jury.
Profile of The Programme
The aim of the Basic Islamic Sciences Master's program is to train expert researchers with critical thinking skills who will be able to produce knowledge in related disciplines and share this knowledge at national and international level. To prepare students who are successful at the Master's level for the Ph.D. stage.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Basic Islamic Sciences Department Master's program can fulfill their duties in the field of education and religious services in a more equipped way, as well as have the opportunity to work as a Research Assistant or Lecturer at universities. 9
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can apply to the Master's program of the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, provided that they are successful.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Although each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester, they must attend at least 70% of the courses in order to take the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one final exam for each course. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 70 points from the final exam. Students who get one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC from a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course.
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS equivalent) and successfully complete the thesis.
