General Description
History
The Department of Physical Education and Sports started its education activities for the first time in the 2016-2017 academic year by admitting 24 students to the thesis master's program.
Qualification Awarded
The aim of the physical education and sports department is; To convey the basic knowledge and skills required to analyze issues related to physical education and sports, to question and research, to make predictions and to make correct decisions. During their education, students must carry out the necessary studies within the framework of scientific principles. It is aimed to design efficient systems in the field of physical education and sports, to train qualified personnel, to introduce developing sports technology opportunities, and to develop physical education and sports throughout the country. Thus, the student participating in the educational programs; It is aimed to be an employee who knows the structure, functioning and behavior of the human organism, knows the Turkish sports organization and can make comparative evaluations, and has teaching and coaching qualifications. The Department of Physical Education and Sports allows students to access Master's Degree (M.Sc.) degrees.

Specific Admission Requirements
Having a bachelor's degree in any field related to Physical Education and Sports. 1- To have taken the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Examination (ALES) held in the last five years and to have received at least 60 points from any of the Numerical/Verbal/Equal Weight score types from this exam. 2. To have a score of at least 2.50 out of four or equivalent in undergraduate graduation GPA. 3. The success score will be calculated by taking into account 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate graduation grade, and 30% of the scientific evaluation score (written 15% + oral 15%). The success grade calculated in this way must be at least 50 points or above. Pre-Selection Criteria and Calculations: If the number of applications is more than 3 (three) times the announced quota, pre-selection will be made and candidates 3 (three) times the determined quota will participate in the Scientific evaluation exam. Preliminary Screening Score: It will be calculated by taking 60% of the ALES score + 40% of the undergraduate graduation grade.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
(1) Postgraduate courses taken by a student from domestic or international higher education institutions can be transferred to the program in which the student is registered with the opinion of the advisor, the decision of the Institute department/major art branch board, the proposal of the relevant department/major art branch chairmanship and the decision of the Institute Board of Directors. (2) Except for horizontal transfers, credit courses used to complete an undergraduate/master's program cannot be transferred to another master's/doctoral/art proficiency program. (3) In graduate programs, course transfer is made between equivalent programs. However, in order for the course to be transferred, the student must be dismissed from the program in which he/she was previously registered. (4) The opinion of the advisor, the decision of the board of the Institute department/major art branch, the opinion of the advisor, the decision of the board of the Institute department/major art, and those who are in the thesis phase of the master's program and those who are successful in the proficiency exam in the doctoral/art proficiency program, among the students who come through horizontal transfer within the scope of the faculty member training program, have their previous courses counted. proposal and is decided by the Institute Board of Directors. (5) In order for courses taken from other graduate programs to be considered exempt; The success grade of the course(s) for which exemption is requested must be the letter grade or its equivalent determined in the fifth paragraph of Article 23. For the course(s) that are evaluated as successful/unsuccessful in graduate programs, those who are successful may be exempt from these courses, without requiring a letter grade of at least CB for master's programs and BC for doctoral programs, or the equivalent.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The thesis master's program consists of at least seven courses, one seminar course, thesis study and specialization courses, provided that they are not less than 60 ECTS credits. Seminar courses, thesis studies and specialization courses are non-credit and are evaluated as pass or fail. The thesis master's program consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses, including the seminar course, thesis study and specialization courses, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic semester. The student must register for the thesis period every semester, starting from the semester following the appointment of the advisor at the latest.
Profile of The Programme
Students must take mandatory and elective courses and submit a thesis based on their research. After the submission of their thesis to Graduate Institute of Health Sciences, they must defend their research orally against a jury of three experts. For the Master of Science (M.Sc.) without Thesis, students take courses and prepare graduation projects. After completing courses and graduation project with success, they take a qualification exam against a jury of three experts. Student are usually required approximately two years to complete the Master of Science Degree.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
(1) The course success grade is obtained by evaluating the student's success in studies such as midterm exams, practical studies, and assignments during the semester and the final exam. The student's success grade is calculated by adding up 40% of the midterm exam or assignments counted in lieu of this exam and 60% of the final exam score. In calculating these ratios, fractions are kept as they are, but in calculating the success grade, fractional numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number. (2) Students are given one of the letter grades specified in the fifth paragraph of this article by the instructor as their end-of-semester course grade for each course, thesis, exhibition, project and similar work they take. (3) Seminar, specialization and thesis study courses and other non-credit courses are evaluated as pass or fail. Students who do not meet the attendance requirement for credit courses are considered absent. (4) The passing grade is at least CB for master's degree and at least BC for doctorate/proficiency in arts. (5) When calculating the equivalents of scores in the quadruple system, YÖK grade conversion table is taken as basis. Issues regarding the preparation of the questions to be asked in the exams, the creation of the question bank, the storage of the exam questions on paper or electronically, and ensuring the security of the question bank and the exam are carried out in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by YÖK.
Graduation Requirements
(1) The duration of the master's program with thesis, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. Students who fulfill all the requirements for graduation specified in this Regulation can graduate in three semesters at the earliest. (2) At the end of four semesters, he/she could not successfully complete the credit courses and seminar course in the curriculum or fail to fulfill the success conditions/criteria within this period, received a letter grade of CC, CD, DC, DD, FF, YZ or was absent (DZ). A student who has courses and fails in the thesis study within the maximum period of time or does not enter the thesis defense is dismissed from the University.
