The Department of Biology was opened in the 2008-2009 academic year under Bozok University, Institute of Science and Technology, and it still continues its education program under the Bozok University Graduate School.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a master's degree in biology, students are required to study at least 2 semesters of courses and 2 semesters of thesis period. In order to pass to the thesis period, at least eight courses must be taken and succeeded, not less than 24 credits, excluding the department seminar course.
Profile of The Programme
There are five branches of science in the Department: General Biology, Botany, Zoology, Hydrobiology and Molecular Biology. The main goal of the Department of Biology is to educate graduates who have all the powers and responsibilities provided by the laws as biology graduate graduates who have the knowledge and skills to define, explain, apply, decide, and teach the basic principles of Biology.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The main purpose of the Department of Biology is to train “High Biologists” who are authorized to research, examine, produce, control and report on all kinds of subjects and fields of study directly or indirectly related to living things. Regarding the field of specialization of the biologist; in institutions and organizations providing health services, in medical research and support units, in the fields of environmental protection and control, in the fields of ecological planning, in the field of biotechnology, in research and production activities related to aquatic environments, in the fields of National Parks and Wildlife Management, in biology teaching and program development activities, EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) reports, agriculture and forestry areas, food control laboratories, biological treatment facilities, determination of biological product standards, criminology laboratories, forensic medicine, land, air and sea customs, biomedical study areas, pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical raw materials, cosmetic products It has the equipment to work in the fields of production and control of vector living things and in nuclear facilities. Those who have completed the biology master's program are entitled to receive the title of "higher biologist". Today, biologists work intensively as academicians in universities, in the health sector, in hydrobiology research centers, in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, in the private sector with the authority to regulate EIA, and in the pharmaceutical and food industry. In addition, those who have a teaching certificate work in secondary schools and private teaching institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education or the private sector.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete their master's education can study in doctoral programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient English language knowledge.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA, 90-100), (BA, 85-89), (BB, 80-84), (CB, 75-79) and (CC, 70-74) in a course are considered successful in that course. Students who are successful in seminars, thesis work, specialization courses and other non-credit courses are given a BL (successful) grade, and unsuccessful students are given a BS (unsuccessful) grade.
Graduation Requirements
To be successful in the Seminar course of the Department, the Specialization Course and at least 8 and 24 credits of the Department's graduate courses. To study and be successful in the master's thesis period of at least 2 semesters. Students who successfully complete all the courses available in the department program and successfully complete the master's thesis are awarded a master's degree in Biology.

Facilities
The suitability of the education plans for the qualifications targeted for the students is evaluated before each academic year, taking into account the new developments. The Department has 5 Laboratories: 1) Student Application Laboratory used for educational purposes 2) Cytogenetic Research Laboratory 3) Herbarium 4) General Biology Research Laboratory 5) Molecular Biology Research Laboratory
