General Description
History
Geological Engineering Department was established in 1994 within the body of Erciyes University Yozgat Engineering-Architecture Faculty. The first student admission to the undergraduate program was made in the 1995-1996 academic year and the first graduates were given in the 1999-2000 academic year. The department joined the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture with the establishment of Bozok University in 2006. In the 2009-2010 academic year, students were admitted to the secondary education and graduate programs. The Department of Geological Engineering, which consists of 4 Departments: General Geology, Applied Geology, Mineral Deposits-Geochemistry and Mineralogy-Petrography, has shown a rapid development in terms of academic staff and laboratory infrastructure since 1994. The academic staff consists of 4 professor, 2 associate professors and 1 Dr. teach It consists of a total of 7 faculty members. To date, a total of 418 undergraduate students have graduated from 17 graduate, primary and secondary education programs. Currently, 10 undergraduate and 23 graduate students continue their education in the Department of Geological Engineering.

Specific Admission Requirements
The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications to be sought in candidate students are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and the deadline, the place and date of the interview of the candidates are stated. The equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained from abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates; Until the deadline specified in the announcement, they apply to the institute directorate together with their ALES documents, undergraduate diplomas, success grades from the courses they have studied at the undergraduate level, approved documents stating their graduation grade point averages, and other registration information. The registration procedures of the candidates are arranged and carried out by the related institute directorate.

Profile of The Programme
The program consists of 4 main disciplines: General Geology, Applied Geology, Mineral Deposits and Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrography. With the help of advisors, students register for compulsory and elective courses in the relevant discipline; They complete their thesis and make their defense.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Geological Engineers work in the public and private sectors. Geological engineers in the public sector, especially MTA and TPAO, DSI, Iller Bank, TKI, TTK, Special Provincial Administrations, Municipalities, Public Works, Etibank, Cement Factories and Universities; In the private sector, they work in mining and oil companies, ground survey and drilling companies and various engineering companies.

Facilities
The Department of Geological Engineering provides education and training in the building of the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture, and the infrastructure and laboratory facilities of the department are as follows: Laboratories with different features and equipment for postgraduate and further research (Research Microscope Lab., Thin Section and Polishing Lab., Geochronology Lab., Applied Geology Lab.) is available.
