General Description
History
Established within the body of Yozgat Bozok University Institute of Science and Technology, the Department of Urban Conservation and Renewal has been accepting graduate students since 2020 as an interdisciplinary program under the coordination of Architecture and City and Regional Planning departments.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates who can apply to the Urban Conservation and Renewal Program are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.50 from the Departments of Architecture, City and Regional Planning or Public Administration/Political Science and Public Administration. It is required to get at least 65points from the relevant field in the country-wide Graduate Entrance Exam (ALES).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Successful students who have completed at least one semester in another department of the same institute at the university or in a graduate program affiliated with an equivalent institute of another higher education institution can be admitted to graduate programs through horizontal transfer.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The program consists of at least eight courses, two workshops, a seminar course and a thesis, with a total of not less than 24 national credits. The seminar course is non-credit. Compulsory courses must be completed within 24 credits. 30% of the 24 credits of elective courses are not exceeded, from Urban Conservation and Renewal Programs in other institutes or universities, or from Architecture, Restoration, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Urbanism, Urban and Environmental Problems, Social Environmental Sciences, Environment Courses can be selected from the Sciences, Disaster Management, and Public Administration programs with the approval of the advisor. The program offers full-time and daytime education. It has a syllabus focused on workshop lessons and theoretical lessons. The studies produced in the workshop courses cover the in-depth research process, are practical and in line with the data obtained, the information produced by the students within the scope of the course is directly used in the project studies. End of term projects are evaluated by the jury system. The prerequisite for the Workshop 2 course is to successfully pass the Workshop 1 course.
Profile of The Programme
It is aimed at training experts who will work effectively in the field of application in urban conservation and renewal and can carry out studies with other related disciplines. By eliminating the negative effects and rent pressures brought about by the rapid urbanization processes on historical areas; It is aimed to contribute to the production of solutions and conservation practices that will provide spatial, social and economic improvement. Program; Architecture, Restoration, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Urbanism, City and Environment, as it covers an education aimed at understanding the historical-spatial processes, comprehending the current economic, social and cultural practices, identifying the problems and potentials of the area and developing solution proposals in an interdisciplinary framework on the basis of international conservation principles. Its problems include Social Environmental Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Disaster Management, Public Administration disciplines. Another aim of the program is to train staff or academicians who can interpret the knowledge on current issues and use them in solving the problems of protected areas and gain the ability to comprehend and interpret the experiences of different countries on conservation with their spatial, social, cultural and economic context, apply current and technological knowledge in business life and adapt to new technologies.

There is no doctoral program. They can continue their doctorate in Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration departments.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Each course has a Midterm Exam (Midterm Exam) and Final Exam. The success score of the courses is calculated by taking 40% of the Midterm Exam (Midterm) score and 60% of the Final Exam score. A student who gets at least 70 points out of 100 points is considered successful in the related course.
Graduation Requirements
Those who have taken at least 120 ECTS courses (at least 8 courses) and have successfully completed all of them and achieved a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00; Successful in Workshop, Seminar, Specialization Course and Thesis Study; A master's degree is given to students who are successful in thesis defense and submit their thesis.
