Specific Admission Requirements
The student who wants to enroll in the master's program must complete the processes determined by the YÖK and pass the exams within the framework of the academic and legal regulations of the university. Admission and application conditions to the program are published on the Graduate Education Institute website before the academic semester begins. A student who has started his education in an equivalent program in the country or abroad can apply for horizontal transfer. Admission of students is examined and evaluated individually before the semester starts, taking into account the conditions of each student and the degree to which they apply.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Only prior learning in equivalent formal programs can be transferred.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Examines the social relations in professional and professional environments and the norms directing these relations with a critical perspective, takes action to improve and change them when necessary, and leads. He/she systematically conveys the developments in his/her field and his/her work to the groups in and outside his/her field, in written, verbal and visual formats. Actively participates or leads teamwork related to his/her field. It evaluates the information about the field with a critical eye and directs learning. Based on undergraduate qualifications, he/she has, develops and deepens the theoretical and applied knowledge at the level of expertise in an educational science field. Discusses the interaction between disciplines related to the field. Uses, develops and deepens the theoretical and applied knowledge acquired in the field of expertise. It creates new knowledge by functionally integrating the knowledge in the field with the knowledge coming from different disciplines. Evaluates current developments in line with national values and country realities. Supervises the stages of collecting, interpreting and announcing the data related to the field on the basis of social, scientific and ethical values and teaches these values.
Profile of The Programme
The Department of Social Studies Education carries out an education plan in order to train lecturers and academicians in the field of Social Studies Education Master Program. The Master's Program includes compulsory courses on contemporary approaches, research methods and techniques, statistics and applications in Social Studies teaching, material development in Social Studies teaching, personal and professional development of teachers, measurement and evaluation. In the education plan, in addition to the compulsory courses, there are elective courses that offer students the chance to choose according to their own preferences.

Graduates of this program can continue their doctoral studies if they meet the prerequisites.
Access to Further Studies
Those who have successfully completed the Master's Program can continue their education in the Social Studies Teaching Doctorate Programs at Graduate Education Institutes affiliated to other universities or in doctoral programs if they meet the stipulated conditions of close programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each course is assessed via a mid-term exam and a final exam with contributions of 40% and 60%, respectively. Those students who take one of the grades AA,AB, BA, BB, BC, CB or CC pass.
Graduation Requirements
Students who are successful in at least 8 courses (120 ECTS), seminars, specialization courses and thesis studies are entitled to graduate.
