Specific Admission Requirements
1) Students are admitted to the master's program after an interview. The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications to be sought in candidate students are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and the deadline, the place and date of the interview of the candidates are stated. 2) Candidates; Until the deadline specified in the announcement, they fill out their ALES documents, undergraduate diplomas, success grades from the courses they studied at the undergraduate level, approved documents indicating their graduation grade point average, other registration information and apply to the institute directorate with the candidate number they provide in the internet registration environment. The registration procedures of the candidates are arranged and carried out by the related institute directorate. 3) To have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and/or biology education, faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary and departments of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology and genetics. 4) To have taken the Graduate Studies Examination (ALES) held in the last five years and to have received at least 55 points from the score type in this exam. 5) To have a minimum score of 2.00 out of 4.00 or equivalent in undergraduate graduation GPA. 6) The success score will be calculated by considering 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate graduation grade, and 30% of the scientific evaluation grade. The success grade calculated in this way must be at least 50 points and above. Pre-selection Criteria and Calculations: In case the number of applications is more than 3 (three) times the announced quota, pre-selection will be made and the candidate 3 (three) times the number of determined quotas (Scientific Evaluation Exam) will participate. Pre-Qualification Score: It will be calculated by taking 60% of the ALES score + 40% of the undergraduate graduation grade
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Successful students who have completed at least one semester in another department of the same institute at the university or in a graduate program affiliated with an equivalent institute of another higher education institution can be admitted to graduate programs through horizontal transfer. In order for a student's lateral transfer application to be accepted, there must be a compatibility between the graduate education program that he is currently continuing and the program he wants to transfer in terms of courses and entry requirements, and there must be a faculty member and infrastructure opportunities in the relevant department who can undertake the thesis advisory. A student who wishes to transfer to a graduate program of the university; He applies to the institute directorate by attaching the documents that introduce the education program he is continuing and the success status of the courses he is enrolled in to his petition. Director of the institution; It sends the application documents to the relevant department or the head of the main art branch and asks for the opinion of the department and, if this opinion is positive, the names of the courses that the student must take in order to adapt to the program. The opinions and suggestions of the department are reviewed by the Graduate School Administrative Board and it is decided whether the student's request for lateral transfer is appropriate or not before the start of the education. The courses taken by the student while enrolled in a graduate program of another university, in case of enrolling in a graduate program at the University, which of them will be counted as the minimum course load, are determined by the recommendation of the advisor and the relevant Department Board and the approval of the Graduate School Administrative Board.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Within the scope of Yozgat Bozok University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations; The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, not less than 60 ECTS credits, a seminar course, thesis and specialization courses. Seminar course, thesis studies and specialization courses are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. In the master's program with thesis; must take at least 120 ECTS credits in total, including at least eight courses, thesis work and specialization courses, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term. The student has to register for the thesis period of each semester, starting from the semester following the appointment of the advisor at the latest. The student takes the seminar course only once in the second semester. All students in the department/major art branch register for the same seminar course. The subject of the seminar course is determined by the thesis advisor, notified to the Graduate School through the head of the department and announced by the Graduate School. The seminar topic cannot be changed after it has been announced by the Institute. The student who fails the seminar course repeats the seminar course in the next semester. In case of repetition, the seminar topic can be changed with the approval of the thesis advisor and the approval of the Graduate School Administrative Board. The duration of the master's program with thesis is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. Students who fulfill all the requirements for graduation specified in this regulation can graduate in three semesters at the earliest. A student who cannot successfully complete the credit courses and seminar course in the curriculum at the end of four semesters, or fails to fulfill the success conditions/criteria within this period, fails in the thesis study within the maximum period, or does not enter the thesis, is dismissed from the University. At the end of four semesters, a student who fails to successfully complete the credit courses and seminar course in the curriculum or has a letter grade of CD, DC, DD, FF, YZ or has a course/courses in which he is absent (DZ) is dismissed from the University.
Profile of The Programme
Pharmacology is the science that studies the effects, mechanisms of action and use of drugs in treatment. It deals with the determination of the most suitable chemical substance for the treatment, diagnosis, prophylaxis and other medical purposes of diseases and developing it as a drug by conducting in vitro or in vivo studies on cells, subcellular structures, bioactive molecules, tissues and organs on experimental animals and/or humans. It is a science that contributes to drug development studies by examining the effects of newly synthesized substances or separated from plants, their biological fate in experimental animals with laboratory studies, and humans with clinical studies. Pharmacology carries out this complex and intensive process, ranging from research on living things to clinical practice, in close connection with many sub-branches and sub-branches. The aim of the Pharmacology Department Master's Program is to be able to conduct basic pharmacological research, interpret and present the results; will be able to exchange information about drugs; is to train well-trained manpower, which is equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that are the prerequisites for doctorate in our universities, and which is needed in the pharmaceutical industry.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates from faculty of pharmacy and/or other faculties, could work at international or national pharmaceutical industries or laboratories in pharmacology related research and development fields. If students have required scores from ALES and language proficiency exams, they could be appointed as academic staff.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs both in their own fields and in multi-disciplinary fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and provide English language proficiency.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Student assessment methods are separately proposed detaily in “indivudual course description” for each course, being based on regular midterm exams, reports and performance in laboratory work and final examinations.
