General Description
History
Yozgat Bozok University Institute of Graduate Education Department of Finance and Banking started its master's degree program with thesis by accepting 15 students in the 2022-2023 academic year. The language of instruction is Turkish.

The Master’s degree in Finance and Banking and “Specialist” title is awarded to the graduates.

Specific Admission Requirements
The Master's Program in the Department of Finance and Banking student admission requirements are announced in the website of the university before the fall semester every year. Students with following requirements are admitted to The Master's Program in the Department of Finance and Banking. (1) The applicants willing to enroll in the Master’s programme should have a Bachelor’s degree, a standard score of Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) determined by Senate not less than 55 standard score for the score type required by the program applied. (2) Criteria evaluted in the admission of master’s degree programs in addition to Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) score, other documents the applicants should have, required level of foreign language knowledge and the evaluation of Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) score percentage not less than % 50 are determined by Senate. (3) Students or graduates from a higher education institute who want to develop their knowledge in a spesific area can be admitted as a specail student for maximum two master courses in one semester with the suggestion of department’s chief and instiute manager’s approval. Special students can choose the courses they will take from the lectures graduated students are registered. Special students can’t benefit from the student rights.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
A student who is currently enrolled in a Master’s degree programme in the same discipline at another institution and has successfully completed at least one semester, upon submitting all required documents before the deadline, may transfer to the Master’s program upon the recommendation of the department administration and with the approval of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. Admission requirements for lateral transfer are determined by the institute management approval and announced every semester. Successful student who has completed at least one semester of a master’s program in a university or another higher education institute, with the condition of applying with documents required in duration and providing the applications requirements, may transfer to the Finance and Banking Master’s program upon the recommendation of the department administration and with the approval of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. In this decision, from which courses the student will be exempt from is also determined. There is no transfer between the thesis and non-thesis master’s degree programs. Special student status, lateral transfer, course substitution from the former master’s programme and therefore time reverse conditions are determined by the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. Courses of a completed program can’t be substituted for another program.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Master of Finance and Banking with thesis program consists of a minimum of nine courses within the graduate programme of the deparment, one lecture on specialized field, one seminar course, and thesis, with a minimum of 24 local credits. The total ECTS credits of the program are 120. To get a master’s degree in Finance and Banking, the students must complete all the lectures of compulsory and elective (equivalent to total 60 AKTS) successfully before the thesis. The master student’s GPA must be 2.00 (CC) . Then the student should research and write a thesis which they have determined the subject with the supervisor. After thesis defense, successful students are graduated. Completion time of the program is four semesters. Students who has carried out all the responsibilities of Bozok University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations can complete the program in less time. Two semesters additional time is given to the student who couldn’t complete the master’s program in four semesters with the recommendation of chief of the department and Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. Adaptation of the student who couldn’t complete the program at the end of this time, is renewed with the essentials determined by Bozok University Senate. Essentials determined by Bozok University Senate is applied to the student who fails twice or three times at intervals.
Profile of The Programme
With the education given in the Master's program of the Department of Finance and Banking, it is aimed that students can adapt to changing conditions in national and international competition. In addition, ensuring that the private and public sectors are trained as managers, experts and researchers needed is among the other objectives. Under the Finance and Banking Master's Program, graduates of the Department of Finance and Banking, graduates of other departments and managers who want to improve their careers from professional business life are provided with graduate education opportunities within the fields of finance and banking. The content of the courses given within the scope of this program has been created in a way that will enable our students to obtain theoretical and practical finance and banking knowledge, to solve the problems encountered and to think analytically.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of Finance and Banking can be employed firstly in private sector and in almost every area including public sector. Graduates can work as accountant, financial specialist, researcher, banker and manager in any kind of business in service industry like manufacturing, banking, insurance and tourism.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who successfully completed the program may apply to doctorate programs in Finance and Banking or related disciplines.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A mid-term and a final exam are used for the lectures in one semester. Exams are graded out of 100. Results of mid-term exam and final exam with a score of numerical results are shown. The score of the examination student doesn’t take is zero (0). Calculating of success score is based on the following principles: a)Average of midterm exam score is calculated by dividing the total scores of the midterm exam to the number of exams. b)Success score is calculated by adding % 60 of final exam to % 40 of mid-term score average. c)Final grades are determined with the relative evaluation method using success scores by the Essentials of Senate.
Graduation Requirements
In order to obtain a master's degree in Finance and Banking, students must successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) in the program and successfully defend their thesis.

Facilities
The education and training of department students and the academic activities of the department are carried out by 4 faculty members. There are 1 professor, 2 associate professors and 1 doctor faculty member working in our department. Our faculty has two computer laboratories with a capacity of 40 students each, where computer-supported courses can be held, and an internet laboratory with a capacity of 30 students, which our students can use at any time and benefit from internet facilities.
