General Description
History
In order to enrich the academic staff of our department, which started to provide education at the undergraduate level in the 2018-2019 academic year, and to meet the demands of our students at our university and at the local level, the necessity of opening a Master's program with thesis in International Relations Department has been understood. After the application made, the opening of the program was accepted and the admission of provincial students to the International Relations Department Master's Program in the Fall semester of 2022-2023 began.
Qualification Awarded
When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are provided, a Master's degree is obtained in the field of International Relations Science.

Specific Admission Requirements
1. To graduate from the undergraduate program specified in the special conditions and explanations section, 2. To take the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Exam (ALES) held in the last five years and to get at least 55 points from the Equal Weight point type from this exam. 3. To have a minimum score of 2.00 out of 4.00 or equivalent in undergraduate graduation GPA. 4. Success score will be calculated by considering 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate graduation grade, and 30% of the scientific evaluation grade. The success grade calculated in this way must be at least 50 points and above. Pre-selection Criteria and Calculations: In case the number of applications is more than 3 (three) times the announced quota, pre-selection will be made and the candidate 3 (three) times the number of determined quotas (Scientific Evaluation Exam) will participate. Pre-Qualification Score: It will be calculated by taking 60% of the ALES score + 40% of the undergraduate graduation grade
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers” are applied.

In order to receive a master's degree in International Relations, compulsory and elective courses must be successfully completed.
Profile of The Programme
The International Relations master's degree program is equipped with contemporary knowledge and culture, has communication skills, has the ability to research, analyze and overcomes problems, is in a structure to lead its environment, conducts research and undertakes to carry out the obligation to convey the findings to the society in the most ideal way in accordance with international standards. It has set the aim of raising patriotic individuals. In addition to the compulsory courses in the department program, the students are provided with the necessary equipment in line with their career goals with the optional courses in and out of the department.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
In addition to academic life, our graduates are employed in the expert staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries and institutions in the public sector, and in the private sector, in the foreign trade and foreign relations departments of companies operating in a wide variety of fields such as automotive, food, logistics, banking and so on.
Access to Further Studies
Our graduates who have successfully completed their master's education can pursue doctoral studies in national and international higher education institutions, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must have attended at least 70% of the courses in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam. Students must attend at least three activities for each course.
Graduation Requirements
The aim of the master's programs is to enable the student to gain the ability to access, evaluate and interpret information by conducting scientific research. Master's programs consist of at least 10 courses, 1 seminar course and thesis, with a total of not less than 60 ECTS. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The student has to write the results in accordance with the rules determined by the relevant board and defend his thesis orally in front of the jury. After the completion of the thesis examination, the jury decides on the thesis by absolute majority: "accept", "reject" or "correction". This decision is reported to the Institute of Social Sciences by the Head of the relevant Department. Provided that you are successful in the thesis exam and meet the other conditions, at least two bound copies of the master's thesis and three electronic copies of the thesis and its summaries in Turkish and foreign languages ​​are submitted to the relevant Institute within one month from the date of taking the thesis exam and the thesis is suitable in terms of form. The student is awarded a master's or doctoral degree.

Facilities
Our department provides education in Turkish. There is a university library, a reading room and two computer labs open to students. A total of five Faculty Members, three of whom are Associate Professors and two at the level of Doctoral Faculty, and a Research Assistant are currently working in our department.
