Yozgat Bozok University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, Ph.D. Program was opened with the quota of 5 students in the 2016-2017 academic year. The language of education is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements
Requirements for admission to Ph.D. Program in Business Administration is announced on the website of the university before the fall semester every year. The prospective applicants should have a Master’s degree with thesis and a standard score of Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) determined by Senate not less than 55 standard scores for the score type required by the program applied. Candidate students for the doctoral program are required to take at least 55 points from the central foreign language exams which are equivalent to the international foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Council, or international foreign language exams which are accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students can be admitted to the Ph.D. programs from another higher education institution through the way of lateral transfer and decision of Yozgat Bozok University Institute of Social Sciences Administrative Board. Lateral transfer quotas and acceptance criteria are determined by the decision of the relevant board of directors and announced every semester. A successful student who completed a semester course in a Ph.D. program in the university or other higher education institutions, can be admitted to the Business Administration program via lateral transfer by providing the program's admission requirements, apply with required documents in the application period, and by the proposal of the Presidency of the Department of Business Administration and the decision of the Administrative Board of the Institute. In this decision, it is also specified that which modules in the program.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Ph.D. total program period is eight semester for those who are accepted with thesis graduate degree, starting from the course beginning regarding the registered program, except for the time spent in scientific preparation, and the maximum completion period is twelve semester regardless of whether they are enrolled for each semester. However, for those who are accepted by the undergraduate degree the total Ph.D. period is ten semesters and the maximum completion period is fourteen semesters. The maximum period of successful completion of required credit courses for the Ph.D. program is four semesters for those who are admitted with a master’s degree and six semesters for those who are admitted with a bachelor's degree. In this period, the student who can not successfully complete the credit courses will be dismissed from the institute. Students who have successfully completed their credit courses, who are successful in the proficiency examination and whose thesis proposal is accepted but can not complete the thesis study by the end of twelve or fourteen semesters are also dismissed. Students who apply to the Ph.D. program with undergraduate degree and in case they can not complete credit courses and/or Ph.D. thesis on the maximum duration of program or failure of Ph.D. thesis will be granted a non-thesis master’s degree upon requests provided required conditions that they have fulfilled the credit courses, project and other conditions required for graduate. The Ph.D. program is composed of a minimum of 240 ECTS credits consisting of at least seven courses, seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis study, not less than twenty-one credits and not less than 60 ECTS of an academic year for those who accepted by master’s degree with thesis. On the other side, it is composed of at least 300 ECTS credits including 14 courses with at least 41 credits, seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis study for the students who are accepted by the undergraduate degree. In Ph.D. programs, up to two and four courses may be selected from courses taught at other higher education institutions for who accepted by master’s degree and bachelor’s degree, respectively providing the recommendation of the institute/art majör department’s and the approval of the institute board. Undergraduate courses are not counted for course load and doctoral credits. Ph.D. programs cannot be opened as evening education. The thesis, which will be prepared at the end of Ph.D. studies, which should be required to fulfill at least one of the qualifications of bringing innovation, developing a new scientific method, applying a known method to a new field.
Profile of The Programme
The aim of the Ph.D. program is to provide students with skills to adapt to changing conditions in local and international competition and to have the managerial, specialist and researcher qualifications required by the private and public sectors with the education given in the Ph.D. of Business Administration program. The Ph.D. program gives students the necessary skills to conduct independent research, make interpretation and analyze in order to reach new syntheses by examining scientific problems and data through a broad and deep perspective. Course content is created to allow students to learn theoretical and practical business knowledge, analyze business problems and analytical thinking skills.

Students with Ph.D. degrees in business administration have the chance to find jobs especially in the private sector at the middle and upper level and group of career professions in the public sector.
Access to Further Studies
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A mid-term and a final exam are used for the lectures in one semester. Exams are graded out of 100. Results of the mid-term exam and final exam with a score of numerical results are shown. The score of the examination student doesn’t take is zero (0). Calculating of success score is based on the following principles: a) Average of midterm exam score is calculated by dividing the total scores of the midterm exam to the number of exams. b) Success score is calculated by adding % 60 of the final exam to % 40 of mid-term score average. c) Final grades are determined with the relative evaluation method using success scores by the Essentials of Senate. Students who successfully complete the course period enter the Ph.D. proficiency examination. The proficiency exam is the measurement of the basic subjects and concepts in the field of the student who completes his / her courses and seminar and whether he/she has the depth of scientific research related to his doctoral studies. The student is taken to the Ph.D. proficiency examination within the semester following the semester successfully completing his / her courses and seminar. A student takes the proficiency exam up to twice a year. The time when the student will take the proficiency exam is determined by the regulation adopted by the Senate. The proficiency exam is organized in two parts, written and oral. Students who succeed in the written examination are taken for the oral exam. The exam jury decides by simple majority whether the student is successful or unsuccessful by evaluating the success status of the student in written and oral exams. In order to qualify a student for the proficiency exam, he/she must have received at least seventy-five points for each of the written and oral exams.
Graduation Requirements
In order for the student to graduate, his / her thesis must be prepared together with his / her supervisor and at least one academic work out of Ph.D. thesis must be provided for the purpose of entering the Ph.D. thesis defense.

Facilities
Education and training of students and academic activities of the department are carried out with 16 lecturers. 2 professors, 1 associate professors, 9 assistant professors, 4 teaching assistants and 4 research assistants are working in the department. There are two computer laboratories with a capacity of 40 students and an internet laboratory with a capacity of 30 students which will be used by students at any time and benefited from internet facilities.
