Department of Horticulture master's program started his education and training in 2019-2020.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must meet the following conditions for admission to Graduate Programs with a thesis: a) Candidates applying for the Master's Programs must have an undergraduate diploma, with at least 2.00 out of 4.00 CGPA undergraduate degree. Turkish students who graduated from a university in a foreign country must obtain a certificate of equivalence of their undergraduate issued by the Council of Higher Education in Turkey (CHE). b) Candidates, who intend to apply to Master’s Programs, must have a minimum score of 55 from ALES (National Graduate Education Science Exam) from a relevant field or equivalent international exam scores. c) Candidates have evaluated over 100 points in the admission interview. In admission interviews, candidates are evaluated with a recommendation letter and oral assessment. d) In admitting students to graduate programs; 50% of ALES scores, , 20% of undergraduate CGPA, and 30% of admission interview results are taken into consideration and the candidate with minimum of 65 points is listed by the institute administrative board.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students studying at Yozgat Bozok University may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken in another institution is in accordance with the content of the course given in YOBÜ and it is approved by the relevant institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this course.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, not less than 60 ECTS credits, a seminar course, thesis and specialization courses. Seminar course, thesis work and specialization courses are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses, thesis work and specialization courses, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term. The student has to register for the thesis period of each semester, starting from the semester following the appointment of the advisor at the latest. The duration of the master's program with thesis, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. Students who fulfill all the requirements for graduation specified in this Regulation can graduate in three semesters at the earliest.
Profile of The Programme
The main aim of the Master's program in the Department of Horticulture; To enable the student to gain the ability to access, evaluate and interpret information by doing scientific research. The research work will enable the student to use his individual skills and professional perspective effectively in agricultural practices. Thesis laws are divided into 3 categories: Fruit growing and breeding, Vineyard growing and breeding, Vegetable growing and breeding.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the horticulture master program (MSc), can be employed in private or governmental sector, research stations on plant growing, breeding and cultivar development, biotechnology, cultivar registration, control and certification, product inspection, seed and seedling production, storage, handling, marketing as well as import and export stages of products.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the Master programs with thesis may apply for PhD programs.

Graduation Requirements
Master’s Degree Programs (with thesis) consist of at least seven courses, one seminar, other educational activities and thesis that totals to a minimum of 21 National Credits and 120 ECTS. Students should take from courses and seminar, 60 ECTS from thesis.
