General Description
History
In 2009 - 2010 academic year, Bozok University Vocational School of Technical Arts was opened as Handicrafts Traditional Handicrafts Department. The first graduates were given in the 2011-2012 academic year. The Department of Handicrafts Traditional Turkish Handicraft Program is continuing with the theoretical and practical training of formal education with 30 student quotas.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who complete the program successfully by fulfilling all the requirements of the program "Graduation Degree in Traditional Crafts" degree. The degree of degree awarded corresponds to level 5 education level within the framework of the European Qualifications framework.

Specific Admission Requirements
Admission and registration requirements for this program are made within the scope of Turkish Higher Education Legislation. Students who are graduates of vocational high schools are accepted within the program quota without examination. Empty quotas are placed according to the results of Higher Education Entrance Examination for high school graduates. Placement is done by ÖSYM. The requirements for registration are the same as for Entrance to Higher Education System.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish Higher Education institutions vertical, horizontal and internal within the university is determined by the Higher Education Council "HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS BETWEEN PRIMARY AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS BETWEEN INSTALLATION, DOUBLE ANATAL Is carried out within the scope of "REGULATION". based on non-formal certification outside formal educational institutions in Turkey or based on experience (in-formal and non-formal) recognition of the learning process it is at an early stage. For this reason, the recognition of prior learning in all programs of Bozok University is not fully initiated. However, the exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic semester for the courses in the curriculum of the programs such as Computer and English and German. Students who think that these courses provide the required qualifications have the right to take the exams. Students who pass the exam are exempted from the related courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who have successfully completed two days (four semesters) of all education courses (120 ECTS credits in total) and 30 business days of compulsory internship are eligible for associate's degree.
Profile of The Programme
Until the present day, civilizations have been living and living together with handicrafts. In general terms, people, food, shelter, hunting, clothing, decorations, entertainment, such as meeting the needs of the hand crafts and products have always benefited from. Artworks with high artistic value, national and traditional value are produced with handicrafts. In some arts, it is imperative to remain in handicrafts due to its characteristics. In recent years, handicrafts have been a useful resource for evaluating the empty labor force. In the Handicraft sector, it is estimated that there will be significant incentives and investments in the East and Southeast regions of our country in the next ten years and accordingly an increase in employment will be seen. Because our women, young people and even elderly people living in the house can do some work, they can work in many areas related to social services for rehabilitation, they can open courses, evaluate the raw material of the country and even sell abroad to represent our country as souvenirs. Therefore, in the traditional handicraft program; Basic Design, Pattern, Marbling, Illumination, Stained Glass Art, Decorative doll techniques, Wood carving, Decorative leather techniques, Decorative ornament making, Traditional Turkish Patterns, Tile, Calligraphy, Multiplying, Miniature, Decorative surface painting, They are trained in technical drawing, stone working. All of these courses are practiced one-to-one in the application workshop.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students who have graduated from Traditional Handicrafts in accordance with their proficiency in the branch / profession of their choice; Can work as a master trainer or trainer in the field of handcrafts, can work as a trainer for rehabilitation in places connected to social services, workshops in natural craft, workshops in stone processing, workshops engaged in wood processing, workshops or industry engaged in vegetable knitting, businesses that prepare carpet patterns, souvenirs production companies, companies engaged in the production of patterns, laser applique firms, fashion houses, textile companies, furnishing stores, home textile enterprises, own workplace or at home and so on. can work in places.
Access to Further Studies
1-The graduates of the department can attend some programs of open education without examination. Those who are successful in the adaptation program continue in the third year. They have a bachelor's degree in an area other than their fields (business, economics, etc.). 2-After graduation, they can continue their education by entering the Vertical Transition Examination (DGS) to the departments determined in their fields.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must register for at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the courses in order to enroll in the courses at the beginning of the semester and to take the final exam. For each course, students are subjected to mid-term studies (midterm, quiz, homework, project, practice or similar studies) and final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. One mid-term and one final exam are held in the courses. 40% of the midterm and 60% of the final exam are collected and the student's grade is determined.
Graduation Requirements
Students who have successfully completed all courses in the program with a total of 120 ECTS credits and who have at least 2.00 grade point average out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate. In addition to successfully completing the courses, the internship is also required for graduation.
